He previously studied architecture at the Technical University of Munich and ETSAM Madrid and worked at Foster and Partners in London, LAVA and AR-MA in Sydney, among others. His reference projects include the Samsung Expo Pavilion in South Korea, the Optus Stadium in Perth, the Trifolium Pavilion in Sydney and the design of the Blitz Club in Munich. Simon developed digital systems for BMW, OT4 and Modulor. His interest in digital aesthetics led to the co-founding of Sian Design, a label for parametric jewellery design, in 2018. Under the name beckh & vorhammer, he also works together with Prof Matthias Beckh on projects with combined requirements for structural engineering and computational design.

Since 2017, Simon has been developing form fields – algorithmically designed, CNC-milled surfaces with sound-diffusing and sound-absorbing properties. In July 2022, the innovative and aesthetic acoustic panels were honoured with the Raumprobe Material Award in the Design category.

Simon teaches Parametric Design and Digital Fabrication as a substitute professor at Biberach University of Applied Sciences and previously as a guest lecturer at the Technical University of Munich, the University of Sydney and Munich University of Applied Sciences. He lives and works in Munich.
