Art and communication are becoming more and more connected: art appears as communication and communication as art.

When it comes to art at Fischermann.Media, the Venice-based curator, friend and author Dr. Hans-Joachim Petersen certainly plays a leading role. He studied art history, philosophy and history at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), the University of Paris and the Deutsches Studienzentrum in Venice. During his studies, he worked at Galerie Thomas and Galerie Alfred Gunzenhauser in Munich and as a writer for art magazines such as Skyscrapers, art, Vogue and Team Celeste. From 1990 to 1995, Petersen held various positions in New York, including at Bertelsmann AG and artnet AG. Since 2007 he has been working as a freelance curator on exhibition projects and since 2010 he has been a lecturer at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. In 2012, together with the curators Götz Adriani, Norman Rosenthal, Dieter Ronte, Robert Fleck, Heiner Bastian, Siegfried Gohr, Peter Iden and Walter Smerling, he coordinated the exhibition “Art & Press” at the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin on behalf of the Foundation for Art and Culture in Bonn, with around 60 positions by internationally renowned contemporary artists on the subject. Participants included William Kentridge, Gustav Metzger, Ai Wei Wei, Gerhard Richter, Jannis Kounellis, Christian Boltanski, Franz West, Erwin Wurm, Gilbert & George, Barbara Krüger, Marcel van Eeden and Anselm Kiefer.

And Petersen always has a good tip for Venice up his sleeve. He personally appreciates the Hotel Grande Albergo Ausonia & Hungaria at Lido di Venezia, Granviale Santa Maria Elisabetta 28. One of his culinary recommendations is the “Paradiso Perduto”, Fondamenta della Misericordia.
