From 1 September, Lufthansa will be serving its Business Class passengers more selected German fare on short- and medium-haul routes under the motto Tasting Heimat. In order to meet the growing customer demands for more variety and regionality, the airline is reflecting on the advantages of classic German cuisine together with its catering partner Gategroup. The focus is on typical dishes from the cities of Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Leipzig. In keeping with the local theme and sustainability, the ingredients for the dishes come from local producers.

And to ensure that the local delicacies are not too traditional, they have been reinterpreted with the support of star chefs Julia Komp and Dennis Puchert. It looks like this: Passengers enjoy the Frankfurt classic “Grie Soß” (green sauce) with young kale, a poached egg and French Macaire potatoes. The traditional dish “Leipziger Allerlei” is available as a chicken salad with celeriac, juniper and black walnuts.

Important for all frequent travelers: The menus change not only weekly, but also on the outward and return flights.
