50 years ago, Richard Sapper designed the “Tizio” lamp for Artemide, creating a prime example of functionality, balance and expressive minimalism. His design motto was clear: he needed a logical solution to a problem.
He described himself as a messy person and needed a light fixture that took up as little space as possible for his full desk. He then developed the sophisticated desk lamp with the long swivel arm, which illuminates the entire workplace.
To mark the anniversary, Artemide is introducing the lamp in the colour red. A color that, by the way, appears more often in Richard Sapper’s designs. The luminaire is optionally available with a halogen or LED bulb.
