Organised by the Royal Commission for Al-Ula in cooperation with the Saudi Polo Federation, Desert Polo is the first modern polo tournament in the world to be held in the desert. As a long-standing supporter of this prestigious sport, Richard Mille is the official timekeeper for the exclusive two-day event.

One of the most famous polo players at the tournament was Pablo Mac Donough, a member of the Richard Mille family and long-standing partner of the brand. Argentine-born Mac Donough, who scored more than ten goals, played alongside his La Dolfina team-mates wearing his RM 53-01 Tourbillon. After their eleventh win at the Argentinian Open, they each led a team that competed for the first ever Desert Polo Trophy with guest players and sponsors.

“We are proud to be part of this important event and to support the further development of polo in Saudi Arabia. The Al-Ula region provides the perfect natural backdrop to see some of the world’s biggest polo stars in action.”
Peter Harrison, CEO of Richard Mille EMEA
