Every nunc. coffee is supplied with a small, inconspicuous RFID chip that contains all the relevant information – from the bean to the roast to the optimum brewing parameters. The machine automatically recognises this chip and adjusts the brewing temperature, pre-infusion, pressure curve and extraction quantity precisely to the coffee in question. This means no more failed attempts, no more notes, no more fiddling – simply insert, start and enjoy. If you still want to do it yourself, you can create, save and even share customised recipes via the 2.5-inch touch display or the optional app.
The coffee grinder: intelligence meets precision
Part of the system is the specially developed nunc. Coffee grinder with 63 mm grinding discs made of hardened stainless steel. It works according to the single-dosing principle – this means: precisely weighed grinding of the required quantity, without dead space or coffee loss. Smart tech is also used here: the grinder communicates with the machine via Bluetooth and automatically adjusts the grind level and quantity to the recognised recipe. The grinding process starts automatically when the portafilter is inserted – a thoroughly sophisticated workflow.
SmartHopper & Bean changing made easy
Another innovative feature is the SmartHopper system. This involves modular bean hoppers that can be changed quickly and cleanly. Ideal for users who like to switch between different types of coffee without having to clean machines or decant beans. The NFC tag is located on the coffee packaging and therefore also in the SmartHopper, while the antenna is located in the grinder, which then reads the NFC tag. This approach is unique on the market to date and emphasises the holistic idea behind the nunc. system.
The coffee: direct, transparent, fair
But technology alone does not make a perfect espresso. The coffee itself is just as important to nunc. as the machine. The company sources its beans directly from farmers around the world and focusses on transparency, sustainability and quality. All coffees can be traced back to the farm and users can even use the app to call up background information on origin, harvest time and roasting.
